AirCheck data from the last four weeks (September 19 – October 17) sees McDonald’s crowned as the No. 1 brand on Sydney Breakfast radio.
The multi-national fast food chain recorded 314 spots during the time slot, led by 2Day FM (92 instances) and Triple M (87 instances). McDonald’s products accounted for 81.7% of all spots in the ‘Fast Food’ category.
Bing Lee had two variations of spots (10 and 30 seconds) airing on six different Sydney stations, led by WSFM (86 instances). The brand ranked second overall at Breakfast with 273 instances, averaging 9.4 spots per day.
Despite not being represented in the Top 10, ‘Banking & Financial Services’ was the top category at Breakfast with 1,027 total instances. 2GB contributed the most spots in the category, led by AMP (28 instances).
According to CRA, ad revenue for metro commercial radio stations is back to near record highs, with Sydney recording an increase of 34% to $18.8 million in September, compared to one year ago.
