With energy bill relief at the forefront of the minds of Australian consumers, competition among energy providers is at an all time high.
Radio advertising for Power & Energy brands increased by 49.8% in the analysis period (21 April – 19 May) compared to the same period last year, with seven new brands entering the market since the start of this year.
Red Energy was the top Power & Energy provider advertising on AM/FM radio over the last four weeks, according to AirCheck data. Newcastle’s 2HD recorded 244 instances (14.62%), more than double the next best station, Star 104.5 Central Coast (111 instances).
Ranking second overall, BHP advertised on the most stations (29) with Adelaide’s Mix 102.3 adding 102 instances.
Sydney’s KIIS1065 ran the most Power & Energy spots with 656 instances. The ARN-owned station aired 11 unique brands in the category, led by GloBird Energy.
