Nine Radio Analysis

After Nine Radio recently revived the 2UE, Magic and 4BH brands, we have analysed the playlist crossovers in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

In Sydney, 2UE and WSFM shared the greatest crossover, sharing almost a third of their playlists. 2UE played a wider range of music, spinning 142 tracks more than WSFM. The most played track across the two stations was ‘And We Danced’ by The Hooters, earning 46 spins.

2UE and Smooth shared a similar crossover of 31%, sharing 416 tracks. 2CH played the greatest variety of songs in Sydney and shared only 17.6% of its playlist with 2UE.

Meanwhile in Melbourne, Magic and Smooth had a crossover of 30.3% with 404 shared songs. The most played song across these stations was Dan + Shay and Justin Bieber’s ’10,000 Hours’ receiving 54 spins.

In Brisbane 4BH and 4KQ had a crossover of 18.3%, with 4KQ playing the greatest variety of music spinning 2,727 different songs during this time.

Of all stations compared, Magic 1278 played the most music with a total of 9,722 instances.
