In the lead up to the 2022 Australian Federal Election, political advertising on radio increased by 39.9% since 11 April.
Liberal Party Of Australia ran the most ads with 483 instances across 23 stations, followed by Clive Palmer’s United Australia Party with 421 instances.
Australian Labor Party advertised on the most stations with 48, while Stephanie Asher – Liberal Candidate For Corangamite and Western Australia Party ran ads exclusively on K-rock and 6PR, respectively.
The Central Coast held the highest market share for political advertising. Stations in the market accounted for 18.4% of the 2,643 total spots that went to air in the category.
Nova’s Star104.5 aired 271 political ads, the most of any station nationwide. Overall, only two metro stations featured in the Top 10 (6PR and 2GB).
